@Mike: My two boys aren't old enough to be getting their first hard drives yet. :D They are more into XBox than computers at the moment.

Well you'll have to then imagine the disappointment when he found that it was 'only' ~931 GB. Still the biggest one on the property though. It's that thing the companies do with quoting sizes that confuses metric system definitions with computer industry binary tradition. So:

a 'kilo' of bytes = 1,000 bytes != 1,024 = 1 kilobyte ( KB )

a 'mega' of bytes = 1,000,000 bytes != 1,048,576 = 1 megabyte ( MB )

a 'giga' of bytes = 1,000,000,000 bytes != 1,073,741,824 = 1 gigabyte ( GB )

a 'tera' of bytes = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes != 1,099,511,627,776 = 1 terabyte ( TB )

and his drive is thus only terabyte-ish :-)

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Human Scanner

That´s interesting. If I come across an archaic word on a human authentication form, I´ll be sure to do an exaggerated wink at the computer monitor.

Just watched Husani Bolt jog

Just watched Husani Bolt jog into the finish line in the 200 meter semifinals

The most memorable 200 meter race I remember is the one from my youth and is the one Tommie Smith won in 1968.. It was a very difficult time for America.. On the podium he raised his fist in a symbol of black power.. He was osterized in America.. Put he helped change America's direction and is one brave soul for it..

What is it they say? "Good threads never die, they just get a little dusty" ?
