After you ran tasks at 2x, did you divide the runtime by 2 to figure out if it is actually faster? Running a Titan V with that cpu should be better at 2x, even in windows. None of our windows systems run 1x as their ideal state.

 I did.  Here are 2 BRP7 tasks from the last time I tried a couple of days ago: Task1, Task2.  Most of my tasks take between 4.5-5 min, when I tried to double up, each took over 15 min.  I'll have to try O3AS again to show an example of that app.

The only other idea I have is let 2x run overnight. And don't mix tasks. All Brp7/ meerKat or all OS3GW. In general you want one GPU task offset from the other at least 20 percent. And you want the BOINCmgr set to between 2-4 threads below the available threads. Example, if you have 24 threads set it to run 20.

If my is calculator correct that is about 83 percent.

I have to run at least overnight to get stable task times.

Ps. Don't run anything else including CPU crunching or games for the moment.

Can we see a copy of the app_config.xml file from your E@H directory under projects please?

I tried suspending all CPU

I tried suspending all CPU computation and running 2 concurrent BRP7s offset about 1/3 but it made no difference, they still took over 15 min. to complete.  The only other thing I had up was 2 or 3 Firefox tabs.  Don't quite have O3AS samples running 2x to share yet.  My app_config is as follows, nothing special there.

<app_config>
   <app>
      <name>hsgamma_FGRPB1G</name>
      <gpu_versions>
         <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
         <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
      </gpu_versions>
   </app>
   <app>

      <max_concurrent>0</max_concurrent>
      <gpu_versions>
         <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
         <cpu_usage>.9</cpu_usage>
      </gpu_versions>
   </app>

  <project_max_concurrent>0</project_max_concurrent>
</app_config>

Why do you have a project max

Why do you have a project max of zero? I assume the task max are ways of shutting off specific tasks? If not I would take those out too.

==edit==

If you are not restarting Boinc after the change.  Please run the "read config files" again on the boincmgr menu.

Are you running the current Nvidia drivers for Windows?

How about not Overclocking the Titan V GPU?

Under Linux we have not had much luck OCing this Titan V.

Still scratching my head about it being slower at 2x.

Respectfully.

Can you post the stats (gpu

Can you post the GPU stats (gpu usage, mem usage, watts, etc) when running at 1x and then at 2x when the work units are mid-run?

Seeing quite a few Brp7/

Seeing quite a few Brp7/ meerKat Invalids lately on several crunchers (GTX980s on Ubuntu).

Anyone else noticing this?

Here is the app_config.xml

Here is the app_config.xml off my Windows box e@h folder.

<app_config>
<app>
<name>einsteinbinary_BRP7</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1.0</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.1</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>einstein_O3AS</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.9</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>

<app>
<name>hsgamma_FGRP5</name>
<max_concurrent>4</max_concurrent>
</app>
</app_config>

I am running a Amd iGpu, a gtx 1060 6GB and a rt 710 2MB which is why my Brp7 is currently 1x.  Eventually I will pull the gt 710 (it was an experiment) and resume 2x.

My Ubuntu/Linux system is running two Titan V's under the above "einstein_O3AS".

Historically, Brp7/meerKat under Linux seems to throw a bunch of Invalids in a cyclic manner.  The conversation here are recommending Linux people run the OS3GW task at 2x instead.

There is discussion in other locations.  And no one has any fix for the Brp7 invalid issue except avoiding running it under Linux.

As of the moment if you are running Windows and a Nvidia gpu, "we" are recommending running Brp7/meerKat. Probably 2x if your system experimentation produces more production.
