Isn't the problem a case of

Isn't the problem a case of finding that "average person" we can all be compared too?

In the UK it used to be "The man on the Clapham Omnibus" :-))

Intelligence is rare, using it even more so I guess.

How are you defining intelligence?

How to define intelligence, a

How to define intelligence, a good question.

The first mentioned definition there is one's capacity for logic.

It would then come down to the solution chosen for a problem not being logical, efficient or even flawed.

But then what does that have

But then what does that have to do with ones capacity for logic?

Not searching in the location they are does not mean he's not searching in logical places! Nor does it mean he left it in an illogical place. Intelligence does not have much to do with one's capacity to remember?

Intelligence does not have

Intelligence does not have much to do with one's capacity to remember

Actually

Working memory capacity is highly correlated with general intelligence, however the exact relationship is the subject of some debate.

memory & intelligence

That is by a totally

That is by a totally different definition of intelligence:

Quote:
Cognitive psychologists define "general intelligence" in terms of the so-called "g factor." The g factor is a statistical measure of an imaginary aptitude that correlates across numerous measures of intelligence, including: verbal ability, foreign language learning, math, abstract reasoning, problem solving, music, reading comprehension, and others.

In that definition intelligence is taught. Without having learned how to speak you lack the verbal ability and are thus not intelligent. Not being able to remember results in not being able to learn.

That does however not impact someones capacity for logic. That capacity for logic is only part of that definition mentioned there as problem solving.

Is that a top-down analysis?
