Yes I saw the snow up on the tops of the Olympics on tuesday night on a drive up to Port Angeles and by the time we got back to where I had my car parked ( I rode to P.A. with some friends) my car was frosty cold and it was midnight.
It seemed like it took forever to warm the car up enough to drive but it was only about 10 minutes (26 degrees)
We don't worry about earthquakes on the Olympic Peninsula.........that is for the people on the other side of the Hood Canal floating bridge and ferry ride across Puget Sound in Seattle and all the other cities I rarely go to
Mostly trees and mountains over here (only thing I need to watch is catching my 75in 4K HDTV before it tips over if we have a quake........of maybe attach it to the wall one of these days.
I guess we do have lots of condos and fancy houses over around Port Ludlow bay and the golf course so they will be the ones that get on the news.
They already cancelled school, both public and private, for tomorrow because we MIGHT get anywhere from a dusting to one inch, it's in the mid 40's F now and won't be cold enough to snow and stick until midnight or later!! I guess if you don't worry about makeup days why not? Everyone except working parents gets a 3 day weekend, they get either extra costs for daycare or have to take a vacation day at work.
I'll have what Gary's having. Make that a double; the more Philosophers, the better. Keep 'em coming, Mikey.
At some point I will have to settle my tab but for now have fun!!
We had a 'hard freeze' last night according to the weather man, first of the season and probably the last one too! My tire pressure sensor thingys must have some moisture in them as everytime it gets down near freezing they stop working and I either have to ignore it or drive for about 30 minutes above 45mph to get them to wake up. I usually ignore it, I will probably do the same thing this time too. I know I could go get the air replaced with Nitrogen but that's a pain as no close garages do that around here, they are about 45 minutes away driving about 55 mph so by the time I get there the problem is fixed anyway! Once it warms up to about 50F for a few days they reset themselves and getting below freezing around here is not that often an occurrence. A couple years ago I put tomatoes in pots on my patio in mid March and took them down in mid November because I was tired of eating tomatoes!! I had 8 plants producing cherry tomatoes non stop the whole time, at the end I threw a bunch into the pond for the turtles to eat but they didn't want them, the ducks and other wild birds didn't eat them either. They all pecked at them a little bit and swam away.
