Well tried to make the topic back on the table, but do not expect to have this implemented, they just do not want to do it and that's all.
Just curious about the result of a vote on that question, they might be surprised.
I think so too, here are a couple of Boincstats stats that might help them:
for Einstein:
Users
489,266
Active users
3,330 (0.68%)
for SRBase:
Users
2,584
Active users
459 (17.76%)
SRBase not only has badges for various credit milestones but they also have monthly participation badges and the above stat shows that of the number of people going to SRBase 6 TIMES as many people STAY THERE as at Einstein. YES there are lots of different things someone can do to pick apart the stats but they are what they are.
Einstein is a much older project than SRBase. Einstein is almost a decade older than SRBase. it's inevitable that they will have a lot less active users than have registered. the metric isnt as strong as you might think given the bigger picture. Einstein still has more than 7x the total participation as SRBase, and that likely has more to do with their pedigree and more interesting research than the existence of badges.
I for one think of a "Badge of Honor" instead of bronze, silver or gold. I think of all the $$$$$$$ spent by the special crunchers everywhere on equipment and electricity to add value to this project, and they ask nothing in return, but to be part of the discovery. Giving credits are a great Thank You and are greatly appreciated. But one Badge of Honor for anyone and everyone that participates in Einstein would be worn with pride. Maybe a simple square with Einstein's head, like the one that used to show up at the beginning of the projects description that was in blue would be great.
We thank you for your valued consideration, and we will continue with or without a "Badge of Honor".

They are talking about making t-shirts, mugs and even cell phone cases in aother thread, it's not done by Einstein itself but is sanctioned by them. It's not fully off the ground yet but is plodding forward. Seveal other Projects are doing it too.

I would love to see the implementation of Badges.
Now that we are running soon out of Arecibo Work Units I would also love to see one badge honoring the crunching of Arecibo Workunits ;)

This is what I was thinking about for an Einstein Badge of Honor. It is on the far right of my signature.

It can even be "just" the website icon which is close to what a badge should be. Less work to do to put it in place.

I adjusted the badge down. This can now be put into the imported badges option in your signature if you want. I may move it from the far right.
