Sharp eyes! I think this should NEVER happen. It may be a bug in the scheduler. I'll take a closer look....

[Edit one hour later] This is definitely a scheduler bug. It's happening about ten times per day on Einstein@Home. I'm looking into how to fix it. This is very interesting, it's the first server-side scheduler bug that has shown up in about four months.

[Edit one more hour later] I've located the bug in the BOINC scheduler code and have proposed a fix to the BOINC developers mailing list. I don't want to implement this without a bit of reflection and giving David Anderson a chance to chime in.

[Edit next day] David Anderson and I fixed this last night. Unfortunately we introduced a new bug that makes the scheduler complain about incorrect project URLs. So I can't start running the new scheduler until that's fixed. It might take another day or so.

[Edit one hour later] OK we have fixed the new bug introduced by this fix for the bug originally reported on this page. We are now running a scheduler that fixes the problem originally reported in this thread.

Cheers,
Bruce

Oh, great! PS and editing

Oh, great!

PS and editing the post hours later is evil, I was completely missing these edits, as they don't show as "new" post on forums :)
