The recent increase of active

The recent increase of active hosts IS due to SETI still being down. You will see the difference next week...

Hello,

I'm new to the group and it seems from reading that there is an optimized applications, S5R1 and S5R2. I've done some searching without much luck in finding the location of those applications and hopefully some explaination how to install them. Is it possible someone can point me in the right directions, many thanks in advance.

Also here at EAH things are a little different than at SAH. Once the team gets the operational bugs out of the new app, they will turn their attention to speeding it up. In S4 and S5R1 that ultimately cut runtimes in half or more.

In addition, you typically don't have to do anything to get the improved apps. They will come down the pipe using the standard BOINC app update mechanism.

I should know the answer to this question but I'm drawing a blank, how can I check to see which app of EAH I'm running now. Thanks.

[EDIT] I found it, in the BOINC directory - S5R2 4.17 Is S5R1 currently running faster than S5R2?

Hi all!

I noticed that my pending credits are mounting, and so I took a look at the server status page. It shows the 'R2 validator is down. Any news from the team about it?

Obviously not. But there's a lot of whinging in 'Problems and Bug Reports' (and wilful refusal to address, IMHO, legitimate questions) about WUs which are declared "invalid" after running to a "success" outcome.

Just possibly, the team turned the validator off deliberately because they realised it had problems?
