This seems to be a common problem on our download mirrors, neither with the apps nor the main server.
Thanks for the quick reply - I guess I'll just let it keep trying. It does succeed occasionally, so I guess it'll get there eventually. Hopefully the servers won't explode before that happens ;)
Unfortunately, when there are problems with the upload and/or download servers, project resets and/or detach reattach operations are the last things you want to do (read that as NEVER do that).
The reason is they both cause the CC to dump all project related files, which then have to be reacquired from the project servers and mirrors.
The only thing you can do now is wait it out and let things run their course.
Like Jord can't seem to download the new exe and other files...

It does seem wu are labelled as S5R7 to answer DanNeely's question at the beginning of this message thread.
By the way, just an aesthetic concern, but it does look a bit weird that it's downloading all these S5R4 files along with the S5R7 files. I imagine they just don't need updating, but since we have to redownload them all anyway, why not rename them on the server?
Let's see. How was it possible again to temporarily tell BOINC to use another mirror?
I know, we shouldn't do that. That'll only hammer another server.
So far, luckily, no download errors yet. I'll leave BOINC try on its own, I think. Better than most probably breaking it. :P

IIRC, you have to hack the scheduler reply and/or client_state to do it immediately. I thought the CC would auto-hop through the list of mirrors on its own after a certain number of failed attempts.
In any event as you pointed out, probably more trouble there than it's worth! ;-)

You should find the list of download sites in your client_state.xml. You could stop the client, manipulate them, and start it again. Or set your machine to a different timezone and update the project.
But as you pointed out already this wouldn't help much in the given situation.
