The Return of the Ghost WU??

I recently started accepting work again from Einstein and Predictor, and for BOTH projects I have WUs that have been "downloading" for the past 2 days.

There is nothing in the transfers tab, and the message sequence for both was the same (but no longer available due to a restart)

General gistt of messages:
Requesting 48600s of work from EAH
Connecting to EAH
Connection successful

THAT'S IT. Nothing about downloading unit XXXYYYZZZ, but when I try to connect again, I get

I've tried to use the abort button, but it does nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions of either
a) how to make Einstein (and/or predictor) send me the units it thinks I already have.
b)How to convince BOINC that I don't have these units.

(Running XP, CC 4.72, computer always on, internet always on)
