Font in forum posts is awfully small.

Can't reproduce it. It should help to constrain the minimum font size in your browser which is generally a good idea.

Thanks for the tip. I had bumped the font size earlier but hadn't noticed that there's setting for minimum size too.

home.php and hosts_user.php are missing redirects.

Where are they referenced other than on the (old) apps page?

Browser history. Not very important unless someone has them bookmarked.

Can't post new comments in any news post that doesn't already have comments.

You can post as long it isn't a read-only news item.

How can I tell if the news item is read-only? To give some examples, I can't comment on Welcome! or Important: website downtime/relaunch next week! but can comment on UWM networking maintenance.

Can't find logout button anywhere.

After removing E@H cookies, the only way to log back in that I could find was the login link in forums. The link doesn't exactly stand out.

Erm, have a look at the main menu (for either case).

Ah, found it. The top banner/main menu is cropped to the width of the window. That's different from the rest of the site. Had to zoom out to see it all.

1. You have a cookie problem,

1. You have a cookie problem, because I get logged out all the time.
2. I can't post anything in the "Post new comment" window because text is white and the background is white. Probably also a cookie thing. I have set my browsers not to store third party cookies and websites not to follow me. If that's a problem for Drupal, then too bad, I am not going to whitelist it for that.
3. The Einstein browser favicon is nonexistent and has now changed to a blue arrow on a white background, or a shark, or something like that.
4. The layout hurts my eyes. Why is it that we're using only half my screen? Those big white bars left and right, if you must have them put them in a non-white colour. Or why not adjust things so they fill the screen? Yes, Drupal, good stuff, for on mobile devices. Or does this mean Einstein is now going for the mobile devices market with this setup?
5. My account -> Dashboard states I have been a member of my team since 1 January 1970, or the beginning of Unix time.
6. My account -> Preferences etc. is using the old wording for the computing preferences, privacy and such. BOINC 7.6's descriptions and preferences now uses the same words between the local and online preferences, so Einstein's are clashing. I see they're for BOINC 6 as well. Great.
7. The "How do I post things" section under each "Post new comment", can't you put that under a "How do I post things" link to its own page? Or do you expect of people to scroll all the time, or open two of these "post new comments" tabs next to each other to see what's what? Nothing said about all the scrolling done to just see the preview.
8. My account -> Community lacks basic functions such as rearranging the sticky threads so they're not sticky and how you want to receive the emails (single daily email or one per thing). There's also nothing showing what my selections are, but again that may be due to the cookie problem.
9. When on My account -> Credentials, you want to change your password, do you have to fill in that same password again to save the changes? Or another one?
10. Forum index is still not showing who started a thread. Simple basic information.
11. I just opened it in Dolphin on my phone and the text is soooo small, it's undreadable. And there the blue text on the grey background is a bad choice.
12. Adding when the last post was to the index, but then not to one of the sticky threads that was last posted in, is just bad design. 10x Featured and guess which one of them changed places with the rest.
13. Of course putting the pages on https://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ and the preferences on https://einsteinathome.org/ isn't standard either! That's great for when you use a password manager of sorts, two places to log in to the same site.

Not a betterment, in my opinion.
Before you put it on here, you could have adjusted it and brought it up-to-date with BOINC 7.6, but seeing how that wasn't even done, I leave here wondering why the need to change to this, and hope you don't tell anyone on the lists about it.

Blue, Blue, Blue I think the

Blue, Blue, Blue

I think the choice of colors and fonts for the forum topic listings might profit from reconsideration.

Currently these important lists display a light blue background, with somewhat darker blue used for titles of topics that one has already read since the most recent posting, and boldface (wider line width), or possibly slightly darker text for topics one has not yet read.

Depending on the details of the display a particular user has at hand, lighting conditions, etc. the distinction between the already read topics and the others is not so obvious as could be wished.  Even the basic readability of the topic text can be a bit more difficult than it should be.

While this may be very stylish by current thinking (I don't own anything Apple, so am ignorant of cutting edge style) it is less functional than it could be.

When in the cafe I don't get

When in the cafe I don't get a new comment window. Only here in report a problem.

Also there seems no way to read or scroll back to previous posts when you set last post first in preferences.

Are these bugs or me not knowing how to use this new place properly?

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

  1. I had to white-list the new domain but then I have to do that for most sites anyway.

  3. I believe that's the Drupal logo.
  4. Not specific to Einstein - most 'modern' web-site designs I see are obviously geared towards smart-phones. But I'm not fond of the fixed-width convention either - I remarked on this in a separate thread before this one was announced. Currently I've used my browser to set-up custom CSS to set the width to 100% - much more useful! But I'll grant that it's not ideal that this should be required.
  5. I think that's the default for where the join date is not known. I have this too.

  11. It's a fairly light shade of blue as well. I think others have remarked on the size and colour choices so I'm sure it'll be reconsidered.

It's all still in progress, I think. But I agree, the change isn't as pleasant as it could be, but as with all of these BOINC-related projects I put it down to lack of resources.

KeePass2 solves it for the moment. As long as I don't forget to start it up. :)

Hmmm, they tested it for absolute ages at https://albertathome.org/en-us/community, where you can see in some forums that threads are over 3 years old. So pushing it as it is over to here feels like a rush job and doesn't bode well. I think they should have copied the warning from Albert over to here.

New bug: copying quoted text to Notepad++ (because I can't see anything in the Reply window), I see a lot of HTML style code.

<br />, <p></p> <li></li> <ol></ol> <a href="https://einsteinathome.org/link">text</a>

I also see the HTML code for the greater than character, but when I put that in the code container it executes anyway. That's with the default "Rich text" chosen.
Checking the preview, I see that the code container doesn't look like one, or is shown as one either. Now there's just a line with characters that look out of context.

Anyway, I quit completely now. If Einstein admins feel that their alpha software needs testing by a lot more people than they could get over to their Albert test site, that's their perogative. But I feel that I don't need to be part of it. I left Albert when I noticed that many things we asked for wouldn't be put in in the first place. I don't think it'll change here.

Edit: No option to remove the avatar, the remove button doesn't work. I checked to use my Gravatar, but it refuses to do so and uses my non-removable avatar anyway.
(and all that scrolling to the end of the page gets really tiring)
