Average #WUs/day completed continues to climb. Over the last 4 days we've averaged approximately 84700 per day (as of 11:32 PM UTC on Tuesday, 7 November 2006).
With 8015300 WUs left to go, that calculates out to less than 95 days remaining. That puts completion around 10 February 2007, which matches what's posted on the home page almost exactly:

Today we passed the 50% complete point on our first S5 search! We estimate that all the work for this first S5 search will have been sent out by about February 10th 2007. Also, the LIGO Scientific Collaboration has recently completed its review of our S3 search, and approved distribution of the final results, which will be posted here in the next day or two.
I was planning on posting an update a couple of weeks ago, but the outage threw all the averages off so far, I decided to wait for them to settle down.
From 0045 on 1 December 2006 thru 0202 6 December 2006, we processed 544244 WUs. This averages to approximately 107900 WUs per day. That works out to just under 52 days left until the last WU is issued...around 26 January 2007. Even if we lose a lot of systems over the holidays, we should be done in late January.
I actually came up with about midday on the 26th (see this post), but I'm betting on smooth sailing and more new users... it'll be fun to see what happens! :)

Well, even with another outage popping up, the rate of return still looks pretty good. My current estimate is 35 days left, so it looks to me like we might finish up around the 23rd or 24th of January 2007.
Just taken a look at the server staus page and it says that 1.4 million unit validated in the last week and only 4.2 million units remaining. Going from those figures it would suggest we only have another 3 weeks of S5R1 to go. Thats about the 10th of Jan.

You need to count more carefully! If I have objects numbered 0 and 1, that makes TWO objects, not one. The formula is Nhigh-Nlow+1.
For each IFO, the files are from 0050.0, 0050.5, ..., 1500.0. Count more carefully and you will see that this is 2901 files, not 2900.

Hi RandyC,
I'm going to guess January 25, 2007
I actually came up with about midday on the 26th (see this post), but I'm betting on smooth sailing and more new users... it'll be fun to see what happens! :)

Bernd already said that S5R2 is being written and tested on their end. So we should be good to go, I would think.
