OK, I was looking in the wrong directory, aka a backup copy of my BOINC folder from before I put Vista on here, not the working BOINC directory ROFL OK, it's late...
That said, seems I can't run patcher, as it's a 16-bit app, and I have a 64-bit version of Vista. Win64 will not run 16-bit apps. There isn't a 32-bit version of patcher, is there?
Hmm, lets try copying it over to the DR-DOS partition, and try running it outside of Windows altogether...
For now, I've turned off work requests and I'm going to let my current work unit run to completion, which should take at least 7 hours. Hopefully by that time, we will have worked out how to make the app_info.xml file, and I can easily add it in since I'll have zero work. I'll try to keep an eye on the conversation here to follow what's happening.
So, all we need to do is change the version number of the app, and create the app_info file?
I think that's right. If you make an app_info.xml file from the code here and rename your executable to 4.10 (because that's the name of the executable in the app_info.xml code here), it should work. I think there is a risk of losing work in progress if you start using it immediately though. It may be safer to turn off work requests and empty your cache before stopping BOINC, making the changes, and restarting BOINC.
I now have a version of app_info.xml which should deal with both the previous versions of albert/einstein if you are worried about keeping these for any remaining S4 work you might be offered. If anyone is interested I'll post it, but I've yet to see any PC get an S4 unit after it has started getting S5. Anyone had that experience? Mike

I´ve used the app_info from MRAO, works fine. Only einstein 4.02 renamed in 4.10 and made the app_info.
Shouldn't we use version 410

Shouldn't we use version 410 ??
einstein_S5R1
einstein_S5R1_4.10_windows_intelx86.exe
einstein_S5R1
410
einstein_S5R1_4.10_windows_intelx86.exe
I am Homer of Borg. Prepare to be ...ooooh donuts!

Yes, this is the right version, but if you have WUs in your cache, you will have to reassign them.

Post it.
thanks!
I now created a ZIP file
)
I now created a ZIP file containing S5T0711:
2.933 app_info.xml
1.077.248 einstein_S5R1_4.10_windows_intelx86.exe
3.337.216 einstein_S5R1_4.10_windows_intelx86.pdb
app_info.xml is cabable of running with either einstein 4.10 and 4.02 or albert 4.37, 4.50 or 4.62.
To have your current WUs run with the new version, change followin sections in client_state.xml:
...
einstein_S5R1
402
einstein_S5R1_4.02_windows_intelx86.exe
einstein_S5R1_4.02_windows_intelx86.pdb
einstein_S5R1_4.02_windows_intelx86.pdb
...
and all of
einstein_S5R1
402
einstein_S5R1_4.02_windows_intelx86.exe
einstein_S5R1_4.02_windows_intelx86.pdb
einstein_S5R1_4.02_windows_intelx86.pdb
change all 4.02 to 4.10 and 402 to 410
...or wait until work queue is empty.
