Thanks!

S5T0302.dat

- eliminated double jumps
- reduced amount of FPU macro ops
- removed double loads on general purpose registers

- SSE3 truncation
- simpler address generations and some FPU optimizations

So, use this patch only on SSE3 CPUs!

edit: The results have to be perfectly match with official app without any differences.

I understand that 'time is money' and i also work for money, but i think this action would not be ethical.

There is nothing unethical to me, if you set up an account for donations. I would see the donation to you as a reinvestment for the energy and thus money saved due to the faster clients. If people decide to donate then they do it, because they feel your work is worth it.

@akos... The patcher

@akos...

The patcher program works on my XP boxes, but on an old NT box it cannot access the file even though it is present, writeable, and not running. Below is a picture that shows directory contents, commands issued, and status of the BOINC Service.

I was able to work around this problem by unzipping the pre-patched application that Crunch3r provided.

Message 38993 in response to message 38978

This result using S5T0302 is another 10+% faster BUT it is listed as "Checked, but no consensus yet".

Quote:

This is my first result using S5T0301 - an improvement of 6 or 7% over S5T0003 (validated OK).

Quote:

This is my first full result with the S5T0003 patch. And this result was a hybrid - about 10% standard app/90% patched. It appears the patch is 10 to 12% faster than the standard app on my 2.4 GHz P4 w/Windows XP Pro.

Edit: This is my "Results for computer" (for comparison).
