Yup, I'm following it. I just thought I'd reply to whatever questions anyone has to help out in the meantime.
I know the basics about computers, but I'm still trying to learn my way around BOINC.
I don't know how to check where my general prefs point to.
Just open up Boinc Manager, go to the Message tab and scroll all the way up. Just after you started Boinc, it started registering messages.
For me, after the different projects being shown attached, the next line shows what my general prefs are set by. It's been doing so since 4.45, so you system should do the same. :)

I think Ageless is asking which project your prefs load from. Should be one of the first messages under your Messages tab after start-up. Looks like the example he gave at the bottom of his post.

Okay... I fold (my arms) for now. If the prefs are saying you are to run 24/7 and you yourelf never went through Boinc Manager, Projects tab, Press Einstein project, Press Suspend button on the left... then I have to blame your cat. ;)
But humor me. Open Boinc Manager, go to the Projects tab, press the Einstein project, is there a Resume button on the left in BM?
Open the Work tab of BM, select any of the units on "Activities suspended", do you see any button on the left saying "Resume" ??
Look, if you see any button saying Resume... it's your own fault. You must have set it. Or your cat. Or your polter geist. Or your antagonistic (girl)(boy)friend.
No program will jump onto Suspended mode with its buttons showing so, without your knowledge!
It really is good to see you in here and you don't have to blame his cat at all!!

Here is some advice for you. The science app gets out of the way whenever you start to use your computer so many people find they really don't notice it if the preference for "Do work while the computer is in use" is set to "Yes". Try it out and see for yourself.
If you would like to see a bit more work than just two for EAH and two for rosetta, just increase your "Connect to network every X days" from the default 0.1 to say 0.5 but please don't go beserk until you see what it does. Whenever you change a preference, "Update" it on the website and then "Update" that project by selecting it in BOINC Manager and then hitting the "Update" button that will now not be "greyed out". The preference will be transferred automatically to other projects' websites during normal client/server contacts. You don't have to go and physically update each website, unless you are in some sort of desperate hurry :).
OK I increased it to 95% just to see what happens (but it did start working when left at 50%).
I've added emphasis to a part that is very interesting. You have stated elsewhere that your G:\\ partition is sized at 25.1GB with 6.79GB free and you were using a setting of "Use no more than 50% of total disk space". If this setting does refer to a fraction of "total disk space", there are two possible ways to interpret this. It could mean "Don't allow BOINC to use more than 12.5GB" or it could mean "Leave 12.5GB free". It can't be the former otherwise BOINC would never have given an error message about disk space at all. It can't be the latter else BOINC would never have run at all.
What about if it really meant "Don't allow BOINC to use more than 50% of the total free space (ie 3.4GB of the 6.8GB free). Well BOINC should always run with no error message about disk space UNLESS for some reason you were copying or backing up large files and that free space just happened (temporarily) to be reduced to a low value.
Do you recall doing anything like this at all??

The fact that you may give BOINC permission to use more space does NOT cause BOINC to actually use more than it otherwise would. There is nothing to free up. You don't need to worry about it. BOINC is not using one extra byte, no matter what preferences you set.
