Okay. On the driver, I downloaded the newest one last week on the 440, and then they released another one this week, which I installed on the 630 but not the 440.

Do you also game, if not you may not want to upgrade to the latest and greatest gpu software right away. Prior to the latest one the previous 3 were not helpful to most crunchers, just gamers. Alot of crunchers say a 10% or more drop in their output after upgrading. We crunchers are NOT their target market so often have to 'make do' with what works. Alot of crunchers still use some very old versions of the gpu software for this very reason.

No, I don't game (other than MS Internet Backgammon occasionally). I think the 630 still had the 310.something driver. I wouldn't be surprised if the 440 did too. Do you recommend a particular rollback?

I install 327.23 as my default driver for all my Nvidia cards and it seems to work just fine, both on XP and Win7. I have two 760's and two 560Ti's. Your 440 has 334.89, while your 630 has 335.28. I think 335.28 is the newest of the new, or close to it, so you could have auto updates turned on where as I don't. MOST of my pc's are Boinc only machines and don't get many updates, especially drivers. They crunch and that's it, so if they are working I tend to leave them alone. Except for a/v updates which get done daily, and malware updates which get done daily or monthly depending on the machine.

I installed those drivers myself. Anything and everything that has an auto-update function, I set it to notify me and wait for me to decide.

Has anyone seen lower performance with 334.89 or 335.28 vs. 327.23?

This thread at GpuGrid talks about some of the newer drivers:

I do the same thing for any new drivers, and normally chose to NOT update. I play FreeCell or Blackjack.
