In an attempt to ease the tense tension, I can assure you that it will take more than winning to win. Ditto for was winning, were winning, had been winning, will be winning, wonning, win, winner, and winnest. Nor winniest. And we don't need to hear any would have, could have, or should have wons! ...though I think I can speak for the Community and say that the unbridled optimism you all display is a lesson to be cherished.

Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers in the morning, then partly cloudy with a chance of showers, a slight chance of thunderstorms and a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Palm trees in the snow.
I live just North of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and it will be in the upper 60's with some rain today, that's VERY unusual for ME to be warmer than YOU!! Enjoy your Snow, Las Vegas got 2 inches yesterday so I guess El Nino will be getting ALOT of phone calls again!! Last time stuff like this happened in California the weather service blamed it on El Nino and lots of people found an "El Nino" in the phone book and started calling him complaining!! El Nino IS the cause again this time too and I wonder how many calls he will get this time?

Well, I don't want to win. But I'm preparing a large pot of chicken soup for the snow we are getting tomorrow.

Leave it to ol' Snagletooth to pick up the clue trail! (He secretly does want to win.)
On other matters, I hear "Chicken Soup for the Snow" is a good book; quite popular back in its day. Nothing like a good book to curl up with.

Local customs can be such fun! Do you throw it at it, or serve it sedately in bowls and stuff - more like an offering sort of thing than a deluge? ;)
