If some of the english gals/guys reads this:
What has been changed last here in the fora with the letter coding?
I see lot's of strange characters instead of the original german ones ('genügend' instead of 'genügend').
I changed my sig, and it was back to normal, but will this happen again?

We are working to enable the multi-language features of the BOINC web pages. For example if your browser reports its language as Deutsch, you should get download instructions in that language. As part of this, we were modifying some settings on the server. Could you tell me, can you now type accented and umlaut characters into the forums OK? Or is it still broken?

Do the characters in new posts look correct?
I changed the apache setting "AddDefaultCharset" from "UTF-8" to "Off" this week which clearly is causing the problem. The result of this is that the Encoding for the forums changed from "UTF-8" to "ISO-8859-1" I think. Unforunatly I have very little experince with this so I do not know what is the correct setting is. If I need to will write to the BOINC developers again and see if they can help me out.
Do you have any problems with the seti/boinc webpages?
The 'old' german characters (i.e. typed before the change) still are broken.
The 'new' german characters look fine for me.
I typed them all the same way: Just hit the key on the keyboard ;)

I never had any big problems.
I had problems with my nick @Einstein and @Seti, both showed fine in the fora, but not in the XML-exports.
And they interpreted my 'ä' even in two different ways. seti made 1 xx; of it, whereas you made it look like this: xx;yyy;, which was tranlated back to two letters ;)
Same seems to have happened here,, as most of the umlauts are shown as two letters for me.

Sie müßen zu Unicode wechseln die Buchstaben richtig zu sehen. Zu problimatisch für mich.
