I suppose energy consumption, green-ness if you like, has to include cooling load too. In that regard I have been surprised by the simplicity of enclosed systems like those offered by Corsair. I have a H 80 on an i7-3820 which is routinely held below 30C, poking up to 30 - 35C if busy. That's if you set it's auto-fan/pump feature to it's most aggressive level.
As a Linux machine though, it's an annoying fiddle to get desktop reporting of it however.
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...
... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal
