This is basically an FYI / warning for others. macOS 10.12.2 introduces a serious bug whereby combining Einstein@Home's GPU work with some other operations - e.g. viewing Nikon NEF images - causes nasty graphics corruption and can lead to system hangs, and data loss. I wrote about the issue in a bit more detail, on my blog.
I don't have any reason to believe Einstein@Home is doing anything wrong - this by definition must be an error on Apple's part. Though if it's possible to figure out what the exact trigger is in the GPU work units, and workaround that, I for one would be very appreciative! :)
