SOmeone did test HT shortly after atoms came out. Runing 2x einstien instead of only one get an IIRC 50%ish increase in throughput.

Okay but I think that still means running HT is better overall. One cpu + 50% does not equal one cpu + one cpu, that would be one cpu + 100%. Right?

HT is 1 CPU + 1/2 CPU (or 3/4CPU * 2) vs 1CPU; so yes HT is better for einstien on the atom.

Hi all, after 4 WUs Enigma

Hi all,

after 4 WUs Enigma and 1 Test-WU at malaria (2 lost due to Acer not responding after suspend to RAM) I came to the conclusion, that BOINC on Atom works, but is not worth the hassle.

But this is just me 2€-cents.

After 2 s@h and 2 e@h WUs, I also decided that it's not worth the hassle. They are slow enough and my use on mains intermittent enough that the deadlines would normally not be met.

Having the netbook get hot and run its fan all the time was rather irksome also.

Sooo... It works but not usefully so.

Happy crunchin',
Martin
