Einstein Newbie

I am using FC2, running boinc 4.19, my machine
a cheap one, 1.7GHz intel proc./256RAM. Seems
WU's are very long, I don't mind that, but I
wish I could get the graphics going. What does
it mean when it says einstein is running as
"stand alone" when trying to get the graphics
going? Can any linux users tell me how they
have their setup running, and how to get the
graphics fired up?
