Apparently you havent' run Prime95 or ANY prime number search. You can add 5 degrees to the Einstein temperature. Einstein actually runs at a fairly cool temp.....about 52 degrees for me wjether on a 2.8 P4 or a AMD 1700.

Running and AMD 1700+ and

Running and AMD 1700+ and crunching for Einstein and CPDN I run between 45-47°C with no special cooling. I find this confusing in light of the above posts. Seems to me that the faster machines must be runnining intrinsically hotter which may account for the difference. AMD Rules![/i][/b]

I have, but the temperature does not get as high when running Prime95 as when running E@H. I have no idea why...

Interesting.

This would be a go research project for someone with a farm.

Must be dependent on multiple things, like cpu type, heatsinks, fans, case design, heat generated by video cards, ambient room temperature, etc.

My AMD is running with 62°C, but overclocked.

Just finished running my 2

Just finished running my 2 first WU's for E@H.

P4 2.4GHz running at 2.88GHz, Zalman cooler, 1 fan in front of HD and 1 fan as outlet.

Temperature measured with Asusprobe was between 39 and 40C, with S@H it runs actualy at 37-38C. Room temperature around the 20C.

Interesting topic. Quick -

Interesting topic. Quick - question, what program do you use to monitor the CPU temp? Is this something in Windows or an add-on?

Please keep any replys pretty basic. ;)

Thanks

I'm using an Asus MB and uses the provided program by Asus called Asusprobe.
