I've had a hunt through and

I've had a hunt through and found some people in the task list doing Meerkat and Gamma on the same GPU.  It seems all cards (AMD and Nvidia of all sorts of models) are generally a bit more than twice as fast to do a Gamma (of the same credit) as a Meerkat.

So do we conclude Einstein prefers us to do Gamma because of the higher credit?

Or do we conclude Einstein prefers us to do Meerkat, because that's what the server hands out if you don't express a preference?  (And the higher credit is an oversight)

Unless I hear otherwise, I'm letting the server decide, which means 90% Meerkat 10% Gamma.  I care more about the science than the credit.

If this page takes an hour to load, reduce posts per page to 20 in your settings, then the tinpot 486 Einstein uses can handle it.

Bernd has said it's about the work being done not the time it takes and Einstein is happy with the current allocation of credits for the different tasks

Ok I'll just do what I feel

Ok I'll just do what I feel like doing and assume if they want more of something done they'd change the credits or give it more priority on the server for those asking for "any kind of work".

Since you don't 'do' wuprop then tasks like this

Completed and validated 90,390 80,313 500 Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT,long) v1.33 () windows_x86_64

or this

Completed and validated 62,165 58,116 693

Gamma-ray pulsar search #5 v1.08 () windows_intelx86

don't make alot of sense to me when compared to these kinds of tasks

Completed and validated 1,492 469 3,333 Binary Radio Pulsar Search (MeerKAT) v0.12 () windows_x86_64

BTW those are all cpu tasks

So the CPU appears a lot

So the CPU appears a lot faster at Meerkat?  Are those tasks the same size?  Check the flops in the task size in the properties.

Are you sure the Meerkat is a CPU task?  I thought Meerkat went only to GPU, and the CPU got Arecibo and GBT.

But the GPU is a lot faster at Gamma than Meerkat, and those are a similar size.

BRP7 is not a CPU task. that's a GPU task. BRP7 is only available on GPU, there is no CPU version.

Yes, I already doubted your sanity.

So it would appear Einstein is happy with mostly Gamma being done (which I assume is due to credits), but I thought they were in a hurry to do the radio stuff for the PhD student?
