My queue is down to about half normal size and even with all the GPU projects suspended EAH is only asking for GPU work.
Can anyone recomend a 6.x or later client that doesn't have major bugs?
To be honest I cannot recommend a 6.x or earlier that does not have major bugs.
The thing is you have to find a version that works well enough. That the bugs/features it has do not cause you more issues than you are willing to put up with...
For example I am seriously bothered by the Strict FIFO rule inserted late in the 6.6.x versions and still present in 6.10 ... but, that aside, and a few other things the 6.10.3, .7, or .11 are decent enough versions. For .13 it is too early to tell but it looks like they did not introduce any new issues and so I would think in a week I will be ready to suggest it also.
If you are only doing one GPU project per PC the strict FIFO issue may not bother you ...
But the asking for the wrong class of work, you have to get one of the later 6.10 versions and also connect to projects that have updated the server software to later versions to avoid it ... sadly they built in the problem and are not that interested in removing the root cause and so you have to have both ends updated to avoid most of the issue ...
The only gaming I'm doing with my GPU is toggling suspend between milkyway and collatz depending on if I'm using my PC or not. The screen blanking everytime a new GPU WU starts was unacceptable with MW's 2 minute WU's while I was trying to do anything. The jury is still out on collatz's 20-30m ones.
I switched to 6.10.11 and installed the beta. It's requesting both CPU and GPU work, getting a single set of 12 CPU WUs and then backing off for 4 hours (lack of GPU WUs? My not having the EAH GPU app?)

bleh. Aside from manual updates 6.10.11 is also only asking for GPU WUs.
How far back do I need to go to find a CUDA aware version that isn't seriously buggy?
