I often refer to the clock on my computer, but when the screensave is on, I have to use the mouse to view it. Is there some way a time could be shown on the Screensaver?
Brilliant idea.
As well as saying "yes me too", could those in favour click on the little plus icon at the foot of the first posting in this page - this 'uprates' the posting and shows the system you think the post was worth making.
I am not convinced it has to be a BOINC wide thing. E@H display RA, etc on the screen, surely it is not outside the capability of the screensaver code to pick up the date/time and display that as well? Either as an option or as something always the screen together with the other stuff - it does not have to be any bigger than the clock in the systray to be useful.
I vote that E@H put a clock on the s/s as part of its next revision. Then if it is really popular, people supporting more than one project can start saying "hey, E@H has a clock, can't we have one too?'.
I vote that BOINC also make an optional clock part of the standard at a later date, depending on response from E@H's pilot.
Pilot or pirate? Avast ye me hearties: Isn't this just the sort of project that Pirates@Home could take on as another screen saver exercise? Give us an alternative s/s to test on P@H before runing it on E@H?
An addition to BOINC would only work with PP@H right now. When a project has a screensave it takes over completely. So to really be effective all projects would need to add a clock to the screenserver.
