I am an Expat Brit (One of my parents was a Brit the other an American.) who lives in the frozen North of Michigan, USA, with his Siberian Huskies.
My username is a left over from my days as an Officer Cadet at the RAF College, that was 40 years ago. A little too "Gung-Ho" on the whole subject of welcoming a grizzly end for Queen and Country according to my peers.
Having survived 20 years active duty and avoiding buying the farm, I came to the USA in 1991. I worked on Wall Street for 17 years, before ill health made me retire from full time work.
My first PC was in 1980 a Sinclair ZX-80 with 1 kb (Yes, That's One Kilobyte) of memory. I couldn't raise the £400 for the 16 kb upgrade. I avoid calculating my expenditure on PC hardware over the years.
I also liked to collect and restore old British cars, until my ex-wife and her lawyer stole them all.
BOINC is a major leisure activity for me, the points and daily rankings satisfy my competitive nature. My dogs, the interest in old cars and singing Karaoke complete my leisure activities. I once ran marathons, the last in 2005, and hope to do so again.
Who doesn't want to find a pulsar?
