"Purple Cow" is a short nonsense poem by American writer Gelett Burgess. It was first published in 1895.
However you'll never beat Spike Milligan!
On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So its Ning Nang Nong
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning
Trees go ping
Nong Ning Nang
The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!
All those onomatopoeias make it sound so childish, yet so clever as well.
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
In the MASH episode "Dear Harry," the 10-year-old Korean boy Kim Han sees Margaret and says "Hubba hubba! Who's the tomato?" Tomato is not a word I have ever used to refer to women, but the scene came to mind.
(Klinger replies that the tomato is the big cheese.)
