Every cafe needs a Word Link. And this one has had several (sigh...). Its a simple game where you type a word related to the last word. An example would be snake -> viper -> car -> thunderbird -> firefox. They are fun and quick. If you get a chance just post a word.
Scoring, Rules and other stuff:
> Ok, the score for a post will be dependent on the length of time that post is the last in the thread. Time scored will be rounded up to the nearest minute. (A post at 3:38:32, the next one at 3:40:09 = 3:38 to 3:41 [3 points])
> You may use filler words in parentheses () or in bold to clarify.
> Rhyming words without *apparent relation will only receive half of the time score. If less than a minute, no point will be awarded.
> A word that bears no *apparent relation to the previous one will receive half of the time score. If less than a minute, no point will be awarded.
* by apparent relation I'm referring to me consulting my Webster's unabridged dictionary, using Wikipedia or
a search engine on the internet (Google for example).
> Editing a post will cause the time awarded to start at the post's last modified time. If the next person posts during the time the previous person is modifying their last post, then the modified post forfeits points earned.
> This particular game will be shorter than the first one, that way I should be able to score more accurately than the first one. I apologize to those that got "screwed" on points in the previous game. When an easier way to score a game is implemented in the (near) future I'll let it run longer.
> Please keep signature posts down to a minimum to help out those who use dial-up.
Enjoy!
(Thanks to prab~ at the Spybot forums from whom I plagiarized most of the first paragraph.)
