The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA)
has taken its full Operation on 13. March 2013
It has 66 Parabol Antennas and is located in 5000 Meter heigh.
The Korellator it´s special and highest Supercomputer on the World is using 134Million Processors at a Computing Power of 17Petaflops that is needed to combine and compare the data of all telescopes.The data of ech telescope has to be matched.
Through that it can work as a Very Large high precision telescope.
The Korellator is not listed in the top 500 Supercomputer list because it´s work is specialized and not universal.
It has the computing power of the fastest supercomputer on earth (Titan at Oak Ridge National Laboratory)
Actually all Astromic Scientists are interested in getting observation time.
In future Observations Einstein@home hopefully can use this too for finding and analyzing Black Holes and Pulsars.

Fascinating...
Three Question which i have
)
Three Question which i have in regard of this new telescope is(i hope Bruce could give us an answer on that)
Is it possible or would it increase the chance to discover cosmological strings which could perhaps be useful to detect gravitational Waves,or would that give a better chance to solve the Theorie of the Supersymmetrie(SUSY),which is also an important thing on the LHC science?
Is the Square Kilometer Array (SKA)a better selection to solve this?
I think many people are interested to get there a backgroundinformation and of course a breakthrough and iknow that it could take a long time to solve this Problems but it would be great,if you can give us a personal opinion to this questions.
I think that many people are interested in that what´s happening behind the Analysis and Evaluation.
I hope it´s not to difficult to explain this questions so that many people can understand it.
Thanks ahead
