Validate errors [pls post here] [CLOSED]

I've been searching and I can't even figure out what a validation error means as opposed to an invalid result.

Would someone please help us understand these errors?

It seems like a small percentage of these occur on all my machines.

This one behaved strangely while processing. I noticed on Saturday that it had been running for a day-and-a-half (these tasks usually complete in 6.5 to 7.5 hours on my machine) and that its progress was stuck on exactly 18.000%. I quit BOINC Manager and restarted the computer, whereupon the elapsed time shown reverted to between one and two hours. The task later restarted and continued to completion, but whenever I looked, its displayed progress was always an exact number of percent.

The other Gamma-ray Pulsar task I had at the same time has shown no peculiar behaviour and has successfully validated this morning — although as I write, my BOINC Manager is still trying to report it and is being told there's an "HTTP internal server error."

I’ve disabled Gamma Ray tasks as I thought these were the problem, but the validate errors are still occurring for Binary Radio Pulsar tasks done by the CPU on machine 4127571.

I’ve tried a suggested fix earlier of having the time synchronise automatically every five minutes (the most I can make it recur) and its been running for a few weeks.

Its only Gravitational Wave searches that report as valid from running on CPU.

Binary Radio Pulsar tasks done by the GPU work fine.

Any suggestions?
