Does that effectively mean

Does that effectively mean the end of support for older macOS computers using PPC or 32-bit x86 CPUs?

As far as official BOINC

As far as official BOINC releases go, yes. Yet BOINC is an open source project so you could try and a) petition the project/community to release an up to date version for those old platforms or b) try and build your own using the available source code. The only two things really needed are the specified OpenSSL library version as well as the latest version of the ca-bundle.crt file.

Thank you for the notice.  I

Thank you for the notice.  I was perplexed why my old android phones stopped connecting.  I assume there is nothing we can do for the older android phones running Boinc 7.4.37 / Android 2.3.6 and Boinc 7.4.53 / Android 4.1.2?  The newer versions of Boinc do not support the old Android phones

Well, there's NativeBOINC

Well, there's NativeBOINC used by other community members. Please PM these follow crunchers or open a new thread to discuss this alternative Android app. As a project we can't directly support it and it may have other issues since it seems outdated and unmaintained in its own right. So, as always: your mileage may vary...

Requires however a rooted device, not NativeBOINC itself, but replacing the ca-bundle.crt. If the device was working untill 25th May, than all you need is the new certificate, this can be replaced also for the official BOINC app. I'm using NativeBOINC mainly because it can run from the SD card and offers remote access like desktop clients, not just because of the certificate.

I have upgraded my client to version 7.16.6, but I still cannot connect to the servers. Is there something else that I need to do?
