I Wish I could do this and keep the rest of the
tasks for the day in the Que so that I could start them
after I was done . I dislike interrupting a running task
for a hardware change .
a) The Einstein project isn't the place to post this in, as they do not develop BOINC, they only use it.
b) But then, the BOINC developers are not going to add any unnecessary buttons to BOINC Manager either. They're not going to add much even to the present set up. Perhaps in the future in a new GUI.
c) It's already available, when you know how to use its command line options.
Start BOINC from the command line with either:
boinc.exe --exit_after_finish or --exit_before_start or --exit_before_upload
--exit_after_finish
Exit right after finishing a job.
--exit_before_start
Exit right before starting a job.
--exit_before_upload
Exit right before starting an upload.

I KNOW it's early on but I have already seen comments about a version 8 of Boinc, do the developers have a hoped for time frame they are thinking of for its release to the testers yet? From what little I have read there could be some interesting new things coming and 'inquiring minds want to know'. Oh and no I am NOT a cat!!

As far as I know, the next version is going to be 7.1 during the testing and 7.2 for testing towards release.
With then fun things such as a new work fetch logic, OpenCL support for CPUs and maybe a first peek at the one thing I really can't say anything about at this time.

OK, Rom and I want to know.. where have you seen these comments?
Let me look, I KNEW you were going to ask me that but didn't go back and find it. It may take a bit as I look in lots of places every day, being retired gives me the time to just look.
A " suspend after current running task are done " button
