If you deleted the file while BOINC was running, try restarting BOINC now.

Go the problem this morning.

Go the problem this morning. Closed BOINC, deleted file, restarted BOINC and the problem cleared. It has then restarted again this afternoon - hence the OP.

I have just detatched from the project and then re-attached - will see if that keeps it clear.

All very strange and never had a problem like this before :(

You got the message because you had been running the Beta application (which crunched Einstein type WU's). The project isn't sending out Einstein units anymore - only the new Albert units. Deleting the app_info.xml file removed the Beta app and enabled your download of the new Albert app. (Just in case you didn't know what was going on.) I have no idea how the problem might have reoccurred since the project would not have reissued an app_info.xml file.

I've changed this message

I've changed this message slightly so that it now tells the user to remove app_info.xml and then to restart BOINC.
