Although the Web Accelerator

Although the Web Accelerator problem I linked earlier referred to a SETI data file, I do seem to have seen more reports then usual on SETI recently about problems downloading their Windows executable.

They have also just made a new application 'mainstream', so it may simply be a congestion issue (more clients than usual trying exactly the same file download), or there may be a deeper common cause. Have ISPs recently upgraded their filtering/virus scanning of executable files, leading to delays beyond what BOINC is designed to cope with?

Here's another user's report which looks similar, problem was solved by "manually" downloading the app, you might want to try this:

Hi Bikeman, nothing wrong

Hi Bikeman,

nothing wrong with the url - the site is kinda catched, and the dl starts. I have, just to mention it, also tried to abort the dl. That has led to the same behaviour again, and it has solved nothing. Dl stopped at a dl size of 1,07 MB.
Guess I have to blush though. I did what I never did before: I disabled my firewall during the dl period. Now Einstein runs again. If the prob is finally solved, remains to be seen. I doubt it.
Best,

Gunnar
