Well I feel pretty dumb, esp. since I myself host a php-based forum, but I do not see any links once I log in such as to edit my profile. No search field to search the forums either. Both of these features must exist somewhere.

I am using Firefox 2.0 on a Mac.

TIA if you can clue in the clueless,

kazar

You can change all BOINC related preferences here.

You can change your preference for the message boards on the account page following the "Message board preferences" link. On account page, there is a log out link as well.

EDIT: nice simultaneous posting ;)

thanks for the deep-link to

thanks for the deep-link to the preferences page, guys. However, I have to ask, where the heck is this "Message board preferences" link? I cannot find it anywhere on the site. I tried Safari instead of Firefox, with no improvement. When I'm logged into this particular forum I see no links for Preferences, Profile, Log OUt, nothing. The only link that exists outside of actual list posts is "Return to Einsteing@Home main page' at the bottom of the page, plus links to post a Reply or start a new thread. No Message board preferences, no Log-out, "no nada". Not even a Log In link if I'm not already logged in (I have to click a Reply or Start a new thread link in order to get to the log-in page)

The message boards are part

The message boards are part of the whole project, so when you return to the main page, you go to the option "Your Account", which has all the changes you want. There are several places to edit in there, one is called Message Board Preferences, and the Log Out is on that same page.
