On the air map it looks as if Ruthe had two of those interferometers, the one that is painted red here and one just across the Leine river, some 600 meters north-east of it.
Of course it's a little hard to identify, the best resolution I have found is 1:7500 (an air photograph) but the other big L doesn't look like a normal border between two fields either and the size seems to be roughly the same.
It has a little house on one end of the L and some "stuff" next to the house that I cannot identify.
I found the air map on http://www.stadtplandienst.de, looked for Sarstedt there and scrolled to the north from there.

Does Ruthe have 2 L's ?
)
If you want, I ride with my bike on sunday to the place and have a look on it :-). But I´m sure, it is only the red one.

For me it's just about 90km (I'm in GÖ) - if I wouldn't have to work on call this weekend, I would have a look myself - but other weekends will come :-)

GEO-600 has only a single interferometer -- just one "L".
