Can someone provide insight into how credits are calculated? It seems odd to me that two runs of Gamma-ray pulsar search #5 1.08 (FGRPSSE) averaging 61K CPU seconds were both rewarded with 693 credits while two runs of Gravitational Wave search O2 Multi-Directional v2.08 averaging 24.8K CPU seconds were both rewarded with 1000 credits. There must be other factors at play.
TIA

The credit is fixed for different task types: for CPU FGRP you get 693 and for GW you get 1000. Runtime (or CPU time) is not considered.
The O2 GW workunits use up
)
The O2 GW workunits use up much more memory (like 2.5GiB here), I guess credits are better because of that as not everyone has >2GB per core ready and participation on that project would be even lower. And the application is much more up-to-date with more optimizations. FGRPSSE is a rather old binary last update being in 2017, takes forever, but only takes up like 1/3 the memory. I'm pretty sure once the FGRP app gets updated with like AVX2/512 or something fancy new tech instructions, then it will run much faster.
