I'd like to change the BOINC preferences so that CPU is only used when the screen saver pops up - currently BOINC is using 50% CPU all the time.
"Run bases on preferences" is flagged but how do I change the preferences??

Go to your account page. There are 3 clickable sets of preferences under the "Preferences" heading. Click the one you want....

I have set up the client to run only when the computer is not in use (similar to only when screensaver is active).
Unfortunately after several weeks of waiting for the preferences to update (as mentioned in other posts) the client still runs all the time.
Is there something wrong with preferences? Will it be looked at in an upcoming release? Is that even in the bug list?
"Run based on peferences" appears to be a big red button in the center of the control panel that actually does nothing. 8^)
Yeah/Nay?

PS(A dialogue box with preference settings in the client would be wonderful, as an alternative to the web interface.)

Thanks for replying.
I'm running version 4.19 on a win2000 machine. It's not a service. It's running in the sys tray.
I did the typical installation. And then modified the prefs online.
I will download the latest version and see if that changes it.
Thanks.

PS(I'm also running seti boinc projects as well.)
