I like that they can perch on the frame and not have to hover while feeding. Hovering is a very energetic activity so they can gain and keep weight better that way.
Query from my SO : how do you tell the boys from the girls ?
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

During the early morning and late night feeding they ALL show up to eat so on the feeders only 6 spots to get sugar on each one so they tend to all land on the perch and take turns and some will actually poke 2 beaks into the feeder at the same time.
The *butterfly bush* is right there so they tend to sit down there and wait for a turn so the bush is covered with h-birds (they need to change the name of that flowering bush)
They sound like bees when they are all together.
In that last picture the one bird that looks like it is blurry is actually one flying in above the one sitting there and drinking from that same spot.
It is easy to see which is male and female.........the males are the ones with lots of red feathers that will shine bright when they are showing off for the girls.
The bigger ones are *Anna's* and the smaller ones are *Rufous* and *Allen's* h-birds.
RE: My hummingbirds are so
I like the way they're all hovering around up waiting to drink!
