Are there other detectors surrounding the detectors. My thought would be that if you surround the detectors with "mini vibration detectors" to pick up the noise from surrounding sources of noise they could be used to cancel out extranious sp? noise by adding them to the crunch data. If mini detectors were arranged in triangular formations(in sets) around the main detector, their signals could form a cancellation signal, provided to the main data. Since they were in a triangular fasion we would know the frequency, power, and source at any given time/point. Then move the detector arms underground and "shave" the ground above of weeds to reduce wind noise. Or are the detectors too sensitive for this to help?

I think what you are referring to is managed by the Hydraulic External Pre-Isolators ( HEPI ) systems. Each group of these has movement sensors linked to dampers which negate the movement. They are placed, in the mechanical sense, between the ground/floor and the instrument etc mountings. See here for more....
Cheers, Mike.
( edit ) From memory, the movement suppression is about a factor of a million!!
